Welcome to Virginia's 5th District Republican Committee

First I need to thank Christian Schoenewald for getting this together.  I have struggled for some time to get this up and running and without my asking him, he volunteered to make it happen.  And just a very short time later, here it is !  I know there will be changes along the way and I hope each of you who visit will make suggestions.  I hope this will be a way for us to communicate more efficiently than we have in the past, with our leadership, our members and with anyone who wants to join one of our local units.

This is not an elitist organization.  We want and need you become a part of what we strive to do, to elect conservatives to office and keep them there.  Just so everyone knows the basis from which we work, here is the Virginia Republican Creed, written a number of years ago by a past Fifth District Chairman Dr. Max Charles Graeber.

We Believe:

• That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,

• That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,

• That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,

• That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,

• That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,

• That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the moral fiber of the Nation.
